Why is it that every time I open memory calculation, the day sequence device I’ve created, is gone?
When I create my islands, I use the day sequence device to set up a cool scene with stars and a fixed time, usually at sunset. If I open it up in a session or a private map, it still looks the way I want it to.
The issue comes when I try to upload the map. No matter what I do, the day sequence device disappears when I run the memory calculation. No error messages, all of the effects simply disappear. Once the memory calculation is finished, all of my previous versions are broken as well as the public versions I try to upload. Sessions are fine, but any new private versions have the same issue.
Somehow, the default day-night cycle overrides my adjustments. The sun is no longer in a fixed time and the stars are gone.
This has been happening in all four of the maps I’ve tried to upload with a day sequence device. Since I’m making maps for people to freebuild with good backgrounds, it’s ruining the entire map.
I need to figure out how to set the day sequence to be higher priority than the default. The only lead I have are the world settings. It says world time of day manager but when I click the drop down there are no options besides the default.
Additional notes:
- priority on the device itself does nothing
- Effects from island settings like filters, fog, and light color still work
- The first time I noticed this was last spring, I wasn’t uploading maps back then so I wasn’t too worried.
- using things like directional lights and sky lights do not work
- When I disable all time managers, the day sequence device also gets disabled.

Second screenshot: when it is broken. All of the city lights turn off and the sun is in a completely different position.
