Add The Rest of Input Trigger Device Standard Input Actions

Summary

When using the Input Trigger device, for standard action, the following are the only available options:

  • Fire
  • Target
  • Crouch
  • Sprint
  • Jump

Not having access to standard inputs for all actions makes it difficult to create a consistent experience in game for players with custom keybinds.

For example, “Interact” is only available as a Creative Input Action. Because of this, if someone has their standard “Interact” rebound, there is no way tie an input trigger to that key. It can only be bound to the Creative Input

Most players are unaware of the fact that creative input actions can be rebound. Therefore, tying inputs to these binds creates a confusing experience.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Add Input Trigger Device to scene
  • Select standard input action type
  • Observe limited selection

Expected Result

All input actions available for creative input action type are available for standard input action type.

Observed Result

Standard input action type only has the following actions:

  • Fire
  • Target
  • Crouch
  • Sprint
  • Jump

Additional Notes

This is very important for consistency of experience, and reducing the barrier of entry for new players on these maps. More experienced players may elect to rebind creative input actions, but that should not be the expectation for new players in order to take advantage of the input trigger device.
