Summary
Using both “Left Hand” and “Right Hand” attachment sockets results in bad VFX rotation while holding objects.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create Niagara System with Mesh Renderer and Emitter set to Local Space.
- Add to the world Visual Effect Powerup Device, set it to spawn newly created system.
- Set Attachment Socket to Right Hand (Left also causes problems but has different rotations).
- For debugging place in the world Object Placer Device with Scythe as a spawned item (or any other weapon)
- During Gameplay pickup the VFX Powerup and the weapon
- Notice that when the weapon is not held VFX rotation is right but as soon as we select our weapon rotation changes.
Expected Result
VFX mesh is aligned with hand while holding weapon.
Observed Result
VFX mesh is rotated in the wrong direction while holding ANY weapon.
Platform(s)
Tested on PC but I guess you don’t use different skeletons for each platform in which case it affects all of them.
Additional Notes
I would gladly attach some screenshots but it’s getting stuck on “Processing Upload” every time I do that.
