Despawn Distance Ignored in Creature Spawner

Summary

I’m encountering a problem with the Creature Spawner Device in my project, specifically with the “Distance to Enemy” despawn option. No matter what despawn distance I configure, the creatures that are spawned do not disappear when players are not nearby. I’ve carefully checked my settings and everything seems to be in order, yet the creatures remain present even when no player characters are close by. This issue is becoming increasingly frustrating, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance!

Steps to Reproduce

During a session in UEFN and a private version session, where I was the only participant, I encountered an issue with the Creature Spawner. I configured its Despawn Type to “Distance to Enemy” and experimented with both the minimum and maximum despawn distances. To test the functionality, I utilized a grappler to move the player beyond the set despawn distance. Despite these attempts, the monsters failed to despawn as expected.

Expected Result

I anticipated that the zombie would despawn once the player surpassed the set despawn distance.

Observed Result

The zombie failed to despawn despite exceeding the predetermined despawn distance.

I conducted this test on a PC.
