Summary
Loading back into our new game ‘‘MEGA WORLD: Bossfight’’ [6631-6717-6073] sometimes causes the ‘‘Network Connection Lost’’ Error.
Affected players are unable to get back into our game for different amounts of time, as they will get the error repeatadly.
Also, they will have lost their complete save data if they somehow manage to successfully load back into the game (actually can take up to several hours).
Our game uses the Save Point Device and a lot of Tracker Devices to save the progress for each player.
We currently have ~5k active players in this game and we are recieving a lot of massages from affected players.
We figured out that this issue never occurs if the player is joining the game for the very first time and mostly occurs if the player leaves the game for the very first time and wants to load back into it again.
We also noticed that it’s even more likely to happen if the player was part of a group while he was leaving the game.
It seems like mostly this problem won’t occur again if the player joins the game after he has already lost his save data once before.
Steps to Reproduce
- Use a Fortnite account that never played our game before
- Select the game MEGA WORLD: Bossfight [6631-6717-6073] inside the Fortnite Lobby
- If possible, invite a second account/player into your group to have a higher chance to reproduce the issue
- Ready up and load into the game
- Wait until you spawn inside the start room (you have to watch a cinematic intro sequence)
- Interact with the NPC behind the table inside the start room (marked with a big yellow ‘‘START HERE’’ Beacon)
- Choose ‘‘Accept’’ once the Quest UI opened up
- Follow the yellow markers outside the start area until you reach the area where some wolves are spawning
- Complete the quest by eliminating 5 wolves
- You now should have reached Level 2 or 3 inside the bottom center UI level bar
- Open up the Fortnite menu and leave the game (go back to the Fortnite lobby)
- The second player/acccount should stay in the game (if you joined the game with a second player/account) to keep the server open
- Stay in the group (if you where in a group) and ready up to load back into the game
- wait until the loading screen is showing up
Expected Result
- You should properly load back into the game and your save data should be loaded correctly
Observed Result
- You’ll get the ‘‘Network Connection lost’’ error and you can’t get back into the game
- This problem sometimes persists for hours, even if you restart Fortnite or leaving the group
- If you somehow manage to get back into the game, all your save data will be lost

Additional Notes
Some Forum users who had similar issues mentioned that this would be a problem at the backend and Epic Devs could change a plugin to solve it.
